• Abstract
• Table of Contents page
• Introduction to the dissertation

o Problem statement
o Research objectives
o Research questions
o Research Conceptual Framework Diagram
• Literature review
• Research Methodology
• Results/ Findings
• Analysis and discussion
• Conclusion
• Project Recommendation / Future Research
• Reference list
• Appendices (sample interview questions and questionnaire questions)

In the first week, our lecturer briefed us about the tasks that we needed to complete in this module, and also the requirements for the first task.

In the second week, we were required to do a literature review matrix of five articles. The articles were from the previous semester that we chose for critical review. The literature review matrix consisted of a few sections, for example, purpose, conclusion, pros, cons, keywords, theme, similarities, and differences.

The aim of doing the literature review matrix was to have a clear direction when writing a literature review. After finishing my matrix, I came out with a working title and sub-topics for the literature review.

Working title: The evolution of Japanese anime contents in the past decade (2013 - 2023)
Sub-topic:
2.1 The Overview of Historical Anime
2.2 Storytelling elements
      2.2.1. Characters
      2.2.2. Plot
2.3 Cultural Influences
2.4 Technological advancement

First Attempt of Literature Review:

Second Attempt of Literature Review:

In section 2.2, I needed to elaborate more on each small subsection. Besides, I also paraphrased some sections and added more information to it.

After finalizing section 2, I began with section 3. A template was provided by my lecturer in Google Classroom, so I followed and wrote the information.

First Attempt of Methodology:

Second Attempt of Methodology:

In the first attempt, I only wrote briefly on each part and the feedback given was to write more detailed.

After finishing section 3, I continued to write on the next section, which was findings about the data collected in the previous semester.

Draft of Findings:

For demographic questions, I created a table and listed the information to show the data, just a short paragraph to explain the results. Then, for close-ended questions, I took screenshots of the pie chart or bar chart and analyzed the data below. But for open-ended questions, I needed to list out all the responses, so I arranged them in Excel. As I collected most of the responses during the last semester break, some answers I hadn't analyzed before, I had to spend more time reading and understanding their answer to summarize into a few paragraphs.

The next section was the discussion section, which was a section that needed to answer my research questions.

Draft of Discussion:

My research questions were what are the changes in anime content and what are the factors that affect anime content. So, my discussion was divided into 2 part, which was about the changes and factors. Lastly, there was also a section for limitations about the challenges that I faced for this research.

 Draft Dissertation:

After finishing my discussion section, I continued writing the conclusion, acknowledgment, and abstract.

Final Dissertation:

After submitting the draft, I missed a part of a conceptual framework, some changes were made in section 3, some sentences were rephrased, and also added another section of future research.
