INSTRUCTIONS
Project 2: Tiktok Video
The task of this project was to create a TikTok video about our campus life.
We were required to prepare 3 ideations into the slides provided.
Ideations:
Among the three ideations, I wanted to do the dancing video, but after I
learned some of the dance moves, I don't think I could dance well, so I
changed to a video about my life on campus.
Storyboard
I sketched out the scenes that I wanted to shoot. The first three scenes
were me walking and the background would be the places that I usually walk
when I go to the classroom. The continuing scenes would be me entering the
classroom, then starting my class. The next scenes were me sitting in
different styles during class and getting bored, and it ended when there was
the sound of the lecturer saying class dismisses, and I would be energetic
again.

For this scene, I learned the layout from a
youtube tutorial. After importing the three shots, I needed to make them in the same steps,
if not doing so, it would look messy. I also did some color correction to it
because their lightings were different and the brightness was not
consistent.
Scene 2
This was a scene about I opened the door and entered the class.
Scene 3
For my first attempt, I included a lot of me sitting in different patterns
which were around 15 seconds, and the ending of my video was me disappearing
from the chair. From the feedback given, I needed to shorten the part and
come out with a new ending because if the ending stopped there, it would be
too sudden and weird. Mr. Martin also suggested me to add some stickers to
my video.
I shortened this part to 5 seconds and added a boring sticker into it to
show that I was very boring in class.

The scenes from 4 to 9 were the shots that I added after getting feedback.
It was about me feeling pretty bored and tired in class at first, but then I
suddenly transferred to a different place and also with a drink that I like.
The drink cured my tiredness and the view of my campus with the greens and
lake outside also made me feel calm and relaxed. Other than these, there is
also something that could light up my day, which was my friend. The video
would be ended of me hanging with a friend happily, compared with the first
few scenes of me sitting at class tiredly.
I decided to use this music because the music had a feeling of laziness, but
also happiness. For scene 1, I added a footsteps sound effect of Squidward
since the music was from Spongebob's show. I needed to try many times to get
the tempo right while applying the sound to my footsteps. In some other
scenes, I also need to change scenes following the rhythm of it.

Project 2: Production Shoot
In the fifth week, Mr. Martin introduced us about the production team, the
purpose of hiring a production team is to produce a film or motion picture. In
this particular task, we had been assigned into different groups with nine
people, and each of us needed to pick a role of a production team, which
included the director, assistant director, director of photography, sound
recordist, and many more, besides than production team, we needed to have two
actors for this shooting.
The role that I picked was Assistant Director, it's a role that I needed to
assist the director, schedule the scene's places and time, script, and
equipment, assistant director also needed to ensure the filming comes in on
schedule while maintaining a work environment.
After deciding on the roles, we had to choose a trailer for this production
shoot, and among the two trailers provided, we chose "Beef" as our
shooting.
Project B:
Before the day of shooting, I watched the trailer again and search for some
suitable places in Taylor for this production shoot. The places that I think
it will be suitable for scenes 1 and 2 are in the photography studio because
not only the lighting equipment are complete, the shelf in the studio can be
use as background same as in scene 1, and the backgrounds of other scenes also
somehow similar to the studio. For scene 4 and 5, it will take place in the
corridor outside the studio and the bridge on the second floor at block
e.
With all of the production team, actors and Mr. Martin's help, the production
shoot went well and we finished the shooting in 3 hours.

After we finished our shooting, we needed to do color correction, edit, and
apply the audio and background music. Among all the scenes, I picked the best
take of each scene for edit.

After editing each scene and arranging the scenes according to the original
trailer, I started with color correction. As the color of the scenes
in the original trailer was darker, so I corrected the color by reducing the
exposure in most of the scenes. I had struggled for quite a long time to
adjust the color of scene 4 shot 1 because the background color was quite
blue, so it was hard to make all the scenes consistent with the same color.
The last thing that I needed to add background music, I searched for some
cinematic music from Youtube and applied in it.
